Google Employees Remain Work at Home Until July 2021

Google will ask most employees to stay home until at least July 2021. This was revealed by the Wall Street Journal, citing sources who are aware of internal problems. Alphabet's Chief Executive, Sundar Pichai, made his own decision last week after a debate among the company's internal group of executives.

Google did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Google previously said it would start reopening more offices in early June 2020. But, the majority of employees remained at home until the end of 2020.

Google has implemented work from home policies for almost all employees in the world. The policy took effect since a few months ago in line with the worldwide corona virus pandemic.

Unfortunately, all Google employees who work from home can no longer receive food allowances. In fact, over the years, Google prides itself on various employee benefits, including massage therapists and cafeterias.

According to the New York Post report, all Google employees who worked from home during the Covid-19 outbreak could no longer receive food allowances. They also do not get fitness money.

Google has denied that the policy about it is new. A company spokesman said that employees were not permitted to pay for food or snacks since early March 2020.

Previously, Google officials asked employees not to panic about corona outbreaks. Google CEO, Sundar Pichai asked his employees to remain calm, because many people are dependent on Google.

"Millions of people and companies around the world depend on us (Google)," said Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, as reported by the New York Post, Sunday (03/08/2020).

The statement was made as the cancellation of the annual developer conference, which is expected to attract more than 7,000 participants to the headquarters of Mountain View, California, mid-May 2020.

"We know this is a very troubling time for everyone," Pichai added in a memo referring to "colleagues in Zurich", who were quarantined after being tested positive for the corona virus last week.

Nevertheless, Google warned 120 thousand employees around the world to prepare to work from home unexpectedly and bring a laptop home every night. Google's Chief of Finance, Ruth Porat, asks employees to stay at home if they feel unwell or sick. Google is temporarily tolerating the conditions.

Pichai said that Google runs a 24-hour command center to monitor developments regarding the corona outbreak. He asked employees to continue to work hard to get through difficult times.
