Many New Emojis Will Present on Android and iOS
Google and Apple compactly add to the treasury of emojis on their respective devices, Android and iOS.
Apple added a number of new emojis, including ninjas, signs of all genders, coins (which say "The Crazy Ones" on it), dodo birds and bubble tea, quoted from The Verge on Saturday. In addition, there is also a pair of emojis of the lungs and heart anatomy emojis that are different from previous heart emojis, as well as finger bud emojis called "Italian hands," which have different meanings throughout the world.
Meanwhile, Google says it has spent a lot of time on animal emojis, one of which is turtle emojis, which have been around since 2013, which are now evolving.
There are also frog emojis, chicks that hatch from eggs and pig faces. Google said it was working with Victoria Bug Zoo and Monterey Bay Aquarium, to make the emojis have a "more authentic look."
Some Google emojis are also being redesigned to make them look better, when using dark mode. Google also launched an emoji bar for wider quick access, which gives Gboard users a more convenient way to access the emojis they use frequently rather than having to open the emoji menu.
Previously, in January, Unicode announced it would launch 117 new emojis this year, which included 62 new additions and 55 new variants for gender and skin color emojis.
Broad releases for new emojis usually occur in the second half of this year when the latest operating system update is launched. However, 9to5Google reports that several new emojis for Android can already be seen in the preview of the latest Android 11 Beta and Gboard.
