CDPR reconsidering the issue of Cyberpunk 2077 Online Mode

Through the strategy update released today, CD Projekt Red announced that they will reconsider their plans to release Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer. As a move towards changing the more agile game development system, CDPR will now only develop the online component of all their games only when the decision "makes sense".

Previously, CDPR wanted to develop the online component of Cyberpunk 2077 once it was released. During an investor meeting last November, CDPR CEO Adam Kici ski said that the multiplayer component required a separate production and would become a standalone game in itself.

It seems that because Cyberpunk 2077 received a very bad response and press after its release, especially on the console version, the plan was reconsidered and it might even be canceled.

"We previously regretted that our next triple-A game would be a Cyberpunk multiplayer game, but we have decided to reconsider," said Kici? Ski in the video. He also explained that CDPR is focused on bringing an online component to all of their franchises and working on online technology that can be integrated into all future games and projects.

This decision did not change CDPR's identity. Kici? Ski explained that they will remain a single-player and narrative RPG game studio. The only changes made to be their long-term adaptation to online features. With this change, they were able to implement the online elements in their game at the right time. They don't have to focus entirely on creating separate online games and lose their single-player tradition.

It's still a little confusing how this intended execution will be. It seems that we only need to see it in person at a later date.
