Firaxis Games remains consistent with its Civilization 6 game after nearly five years since its release in late 2016 thanks to a number of updates and DLC. The last free update to Civilization 6's New Frontier Pass was released in April 2021, allowing players to create a series of new civilizations that players can choose from, plus lots of extras as well as minor fixes. Fans of both games may also be interested to know that this mod adds over 40 minutes of background music from Genshin Impact, with five to 10 different tracks to suit each of the four eras of Civilization 6. Given the three leaders included with the mod each offer their own special skills. Players have plenty of room to learn different strategies once they are familiar with all of the New Frontier Pass content.

While some argue there are still plenty of opportunities for Firaxis to expand Civilization 6 with a second Season Pass, it's currently unknown whether the studio plans to take this route or move on to another project entirely. It seems ridiculous to imagine Firaxis moving into developing a new Civilization game following all of its work on the current entry. However, considering how long Civilization 6 has been on the market, it's likely that something new will be released.
