Call of Duty: Warzone Will Introduce a Separate Sequel Titled “Warzone 2”
Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the most popular games in the world today. Released in March 2020, Warzone carried the battle-royale genre which was loved by many players at that time and because of that, Warzone managed to record extraordinary achievements by reaching a total of 100 million players in just one year.
After Microsoft's acquisition of Activision as the owner of the Call of Duty series, many are wondering what the fate of the FPS game series will be, especially for Warzone which is rumored to be getting a sequel. Well recently, the latest report revealed more information regarding the Warzone sequel, especially its release platform.
One of the leakers, Tom Henderson, said that the sequel to Warzone will be titled Warzone 2 and will only be released on the latest generation of consoles, namely PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, in addition to PC. In other words, Warzone 2 will not be available on older consoles like PS4 and Xbox One. In addition, Henderson also stated that Warzone 2 will "fully reset" Warzone itself aka players will not be able to use the items they got in the first Warzone.
He also mentioned that Warzone 2 is scheduled to launch in 2023. If it ends up being released next year, then it's no surprise that Warzone 2 focuses more on the new generation of consoles and leaves the old generation of consoles behind. Therefore, it's safe to say that Warzone 2 will bring massive improvements compared to its predecessor both in terms of visuals and gameplay.
